About Modulus

We Built This Because We Had To

One of our founders spent years navigating the healthcare system with family members who have multiple ultra-rare conditions, one with fewer than 300 documented cases worldwide. Coordinating specialists, tracking down records, catching what others missed, fighting to be heard. The system was not designed for patients like them. It was not designed for patients at all.

The other founder brought a long-standing passion for genomics, bioinformatics, and high-performance computing.

We knew AI and High Performance Computing could help. For over three decades, Modulus has built AI and HPC solutions for industries where accuracy is everything, partnering with NASA, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and thousands of organizations that needed to find truth in overwhelming complexity. The same technology that analyzed mission-critical data could analyze a patient's complete medical history. The same rigor that prevented errors in high-stakes environments could prevent missed diagnoses.

So we built Modulus Health.

What We Believe

Healthcare should not be rushed. A 15-minute appointment with a physician who has never seen your chart is not care. It is processing.

AI should enhance physicians, not replace them. Technology that removes the human from medicine is not progress. It is cost-cutting dressed as innovation.

Privacy is not a feature. Your health data belongs to you. It should never be sold, shared, or used to train models without your explicit consent.

Incentives matter. When a company is funded by venture capital, it answers to investors. When it monetizes through ads and data sales, you are the product. Modulus is funded by membership fees. Our only obligation is to our members.

Our Heritage

Modulus is part of a family of companies with roots in high-performance computing, data science, and artificial intelligence stretching back to 1997. Our teams have built systems for space agencies, national laboratories, Fortune 500 companies, and government institutions around the world. We have operated in environments where failure is not an option and accuracy is everything.

That foundation now serves a different mission: your health.

Our clinical AI is not a wrapper around a consumer chatbot. It is purpose-built technology backed by multiple internationally awarded patents for safe, accurate, and explainable recommendations. Every finding is traceable to peer-reviewed evidence. Every output is validated by a board-certified physician.

How We Are Different

We are a medical practice, not a technology company pretending to be one. Our physicians are licensed, board-certified, and trained in clinical AI. They lead your care. The AI supports their judgment.

We retrieve your complete medical history through federal networks and manual outreach. Paper records, faxed documents, legacy systems. We do the work that free apps cannot afford to do.

We are privately funded. No venture capital. No pressure to scale at the expense of quality. No exit strategy that turns you into a data asset.

We are HIPAA regulated. Not "compliant." Regulated. Bound by federal law to protect your information and retain your records. Consumer apps making voluntary privacy promises are not held to the same standard.

The Name

In Latin, modulus means a unit of measure, a standard for understanding what is true. In mathematics, it is the absolute value, the real magnitude beneath the complexity. In physics, it describes how a material responds to stress. In modular arithmetic, it finds what remains constant when everything else changes.

The name Modulus and the concentric circle logo were chosen in 1997 to symbolize clarity emerging from complexity, and truth at the center of everything we do.

What We Are Building

A healthcare system that works for patients. Where records follow you, not the other way around. Where physicians have time to think and tools to see deeper. Where privacy is protected by law, not policy. Where care is measured by outcomes, not volume.

This is what healthcare should have been all along. We are building it now.
